Go 4th & Plan A Patriotic Party! 4th Of July Celebration Ideas

The holiday of the summer is fast approaching.  The 4th of July is a special holiday, one that celebrates the birth of American independence. I’ve got a sampling of 4th of July celebration ideas to share with you for your star-spangled spectacular.

The 4th of July goes well with summer fun, food and family. What better reason to throw a party with a festive “pop” of  holiday red, white and blue color!

A different kind of hot dog, these Claudia Person platters from West Elm make a great tablescape starting point.

Outdoor celebrations around our house involve the double D rule (no, there is nothing going on that wild).  Dollar store disposables are the first line of defense against wasting quality party time cleaning.  Paper or plastic tablecloths come in patriotic patterns and color, plastic cutlery packages serve the party purpose, and a red Solo cup is so versatile and beloved it even has a song written about it. “Red Solo cup, I fill you up, Let’s have a party!” Sing it, Toby Keith.

Did someone say watermelon?

I like to introduce a new twist on an old favorite at parties and holiday celebrations.  I think we’ve got a Southern Living summer winner with Watermelon-Peach Salsa with Tomatoes.  Find the recipe here.

Great idea for inquiring culinary minds~ print the recipe on white or colored paper and tie with a ribbon in a complementing color.
