Mother’s Day Moments and Musings

Going over Mother’s Day moments and musings brings memories to mind and a tear or two to the eye.

This greatest blessing of my life continues to amaze me, capture my heart, and bring much joy and happiness to each and every Mother’s Day.

Seems a piece of paper really is important in the grand scheme of a treasured things.

This silhouette proves a precious and priceless keepsake.

airport arrival

The long-awaited homecoming and airport arrival of our son brought to mind the profound words eloquently spoken by Hugh Grant in the opening scene of one of my most favorite movies, Love Actually.

“Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals’ gate at Heathrow airport. General opinion started to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don’t see that. Seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it’s not particularly dignified or newsworthy but it’s always there. Fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends.

When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know, none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge,
they were all messages of love.

If you look for it, I’ve got a sneaky feeling,
you’ll find that love actually is all around.”

—Love Actually (2003)

Our Mother’s Day brunch menu is light, easy, and a requested house favorite.  I love this vintage French menu with blossom frame printable from The Graphics Fairy.
