Pantone Color of the Year 2015 Marsala

The holiday rush is in full swing here at Places In The Home. One strategically placed legal pad and collection of pens, pencils and clips is within quick reach of the keyboard.

At this point in the holiday happening it’s either write it down or risk forgetting to do, get, write, post, cook, decorate or send it.

Love these crazy and special times!

I’m not quite ready to step away from the keyboard in the name of all things holiday just yet.

My posts from now until the end of 2014 will focus mainly on the most wonderful time of year, and today’s features holiday color on Christmas parade with the Pantone Color of the Year 2015 Marsala. Pantone Color of the Year 2015 Marsala

The fashion and interior design world is all abuzz with the recent announcement of the Pantone Color of the Year 2015 Marsala.

Reviews are mixed with no lack of something to talk both positive and negative about.

Marsala is an excellent choice, but I am partial to this color family.

I love the richness of the tone and the decorative possibilities the color offers.

My immediate thought upon learning of Pantone’s selection was how beautiful Marsala would fit in with holiday decorating,  a Victorian meets art deco meets historical elegance color of sorts.

The decked to the halls holiday decorations at The Roosevelt New Orleans “exhibits” all of the above and more.

Marsala is a strong confident color, showing it can share the spotlight with complementing shades to the right or left of the color wheel.
