Gift giving and receiving times are here again, and like so many sites, magazines and blogs, Places In The Home is weighing in with a series of holiday gift ideas 2014 posts featuring selections from my updated Gifts for the Deck the Halls Decorista Pinterest board.
This Dear Santa baby is packed full of decking the halls, foyers, kitchens, dining rooms, bedrooms spaces and places gift ideas.
I even sprinkled a few stylish accessories here and there to deck out the decorista.
With only three shopping weekends left until Christmas it’s go time for shopping.
In this post I’m featuring themed gift ideas in festive style for the holiday cook, baker and merry and bright home for the holidays maker.
Put the fun in functional with gifts that make life more delicious not only at the holidays but throughout the entire year.
Films featuring the joy of cooking, baking, eating, and celebrations with family and friends make wonderful spend an evening in emulating favorite scenes themes to build upon.
A themed gift tailored to the likes and loves of the recipient says I pay attention to you in the best of ways.
We gifted friends who loved all things The Sopranos and with a Christmas gift basket full of Sopranos themed gifts including cookbooks, assorted meats wrapped in butcher paper, episode DVDs, a variety pastas, sauces, olive, and fish oils wrapped in newspaper in swimming with the fishes fashion.
It was a huge hit!
Another set of friends take our Louisiana way of life to heart and home.
We wrapped up pork tenderloins and spiral hams in brown craft paper tied off with red and white twine and topped off with fresh rosemary.
Hot pepper jellies, Creole seasonings, dark roast Community Coffee in LSU championship packaging, Cajun spiced pecan, red steamer potatoes, and a bottle of Southern Comfort to top it off.
To bring it all home so to speak, I included a 12″ x 12″ canvas art print of an old house in a field reminiscent of scenes seen throughout the country roads of Louisiana.
For a fresh spin on holiday gift wrapping ideas, attach a bundle of fresh herbs to the handle of a cheese board or cast iron dutch oven with ribbon and/or raffia.
All the style and none of the calories- this is a great take on holiday sweets.

In a recent recipe post I talked about Ann Hollowell aka The Cooking Lady.
I absolutely love the elegant simplicity of her kitchen decor and jade green porcelain jar lamps that frame her kitchen countertops.
I studied the look, form and style of the lamps over several episodes.
Too throwback?
Too traditional?
Two please!
